What are ductile iron manhole covers?
You can find underground utility lines such as drainage systems and telephone wires in urban areas. The area requires routine maintenance such as cleaning from garbage and repairing damaged channels. To do this routine maintenance, technicians use access holes to channels called manholes. Then, this manhole must be covered with a cover, which we call the manhole cover.
Ductile iron manhole cover is a removable component used to cover a manhole or utility line access hole in the underground space. It consists of two parts: frame and cover.
The manhole cover aims to keep people out of utility lines unless they are technicians. Additionally, it serves the important function of keeping people safe from falling into the hole.

Additionally, the round shape provides better strength as there is no residual stress on its sides, unlike a square cover. Consequently, the stress is evenly distributed on all circular sides. Moreover, a round manhole cover is less likely to fall in when opened by rotating it, unlike a square cover, which may fall in when opened diagonally.
2. Square Manhole Cover (Standard): 400×400, 600×600, 700×700, 800×800 mm
Although round manhole covers are generally better, there are cases where a square manhole cover would be more appropriate, such as in specific projects. Square manhole covers are typically used in pedestrian zone construction projects because they better complement the ceramic tiles installed on the pedestrian zone floor.
